3 Tips on Getting Targeted Traffic to Your Website

As you know, getting targeted traffic to your website is the only way to succeed in business. After all, if no one knows about or visits your website, then you can’t make any sales or recruit anyone!

Now before we jump into the various avenues for marketing and advertising your website, there’s one step we must take in order to put success on our side.

Doing this one simple step can easily save you countless hours of frustration and thousands of dollars from being flushed down the drain.

Step one in getting targeting traffic to your site is …

#1. Understanding your target market:

Before we do anything, it’s really important for you to take the time to know and understand who your target market is and what emotional hot buttons to push in order to get them to take action.

Knowing your market like the back of your hand will greatly help you stay fresh and interesting. Which helps to keep their attention on you and increase your sales and recruiting efforts.

Please don’t underestimate the importance of this first step in your overall marketing strategy and gameplan because done right, it will greatly influence how you market and what you say in your marketing.

With that said, let’s talk about specific marketing tactics you can use starting right now to drive traffic to your site.

#2. Article Writing:

Writing brief articles with good, original content that is of interest to your audience can be one of the most effective marketing tactics you can use.

A good article does a whole lot more than just drive quality traffic to your site. It can:

  • Position you as the leader your prospects are looking for.
  • Pre-sell your prospects on giving your products a try.
  • Pre-sell your prospects on joining your team.
  • And more!

Once you’ve written your article, simply post it to the various article directories found across the net (Article submission software if very handy for this chore).

TIP: Don’t forget your resource box! Be sure to write your bio (keep it short) at the end and direct readers to your site (use your website url)!

#3. One Way Links:

A simple way of getting your site noticed by the search engines is to get quality (and relevant) sites to link back to your site.

Getting links to your site is actually much easier than it sounds. For example, when you write an article and include your resource box at the end.

Sites like Squidoo, Hubpages and WordPress can be a great source of links (and traffic) to your site when done properly.

Regularly participating and commenting in forums and blogs that are relevant to your business (don’t forget to set up a link in your signature) – can also drive a steady stream of quality prospects to your site.

Just be sure to think before you comment or post!

I hope this article was helpful.

Good but a bit too general. I would like to see more detail. For example, Article Writing can seem to be a very daunting task when I don’t know even where to start.

Thank you! Your three tips (understanding your target market; article marketing and one way links, are more than mere tips – they are (in my view) fundamental requirements for quality website traffic and more so if you want to achieve massive traffic through SEO. Basically, SEO would be impossible without targeted, quality contents and quality back links to that contents on your website.

@Luke: Hey Luke, for article writing, you can visit any one of the hundreds of article submission sites. The most popular being ezinearticles.com.

Go there and do a bit of poking around any topics that interest you. That should give you an idea of what others are writing about, plus, it will probably spark the writer in you.

Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to get done. You’ll get better (and faster) with practice. Set yourself a simple goal of writing one article a week.

If you’re shy and don’t want to post your first few articles, no one says you have to!

BTW – here’s a great tip to knock out two birds with one stone. When you submit your article to any of the article directories such as ezinearticles.com, the link you include in your resource box at the end of the article will count as a one-way link to your site for SEO purposes! Gotta love that! =)

@Andre: Thank you! And yes, you are correct, it’s all about the targeted traffic. But in order to understand how to target that traffic, you have to know who your target market is and what they’re searching for, what problems they have that they want to solve, etc…

    @Carol: Thanks Carol!

What tools do you use to generate linksto your pages? I have heard the SE’sdon’t like spammy stuff but manual backling would take forever….

  • Marketing online with articles is unquestionably one of the simplest and most targeted strategies to reach consumers who are already searching to buy something. The greatest method to leverage your article marketing campaigns is to use an article spinning and submitter software so you can post way more articles quickly.
