Lead Generation Tip #3 – Steal My Template
Today I’m going to give you a template to use for all of your future marketing campaigns so you can generate more leads for your business.
Personally, with so much going on, I’ve found it always pays to go over the checklist to ensure I didn’t miss (or forget) anything and make sure I’ve done everything in my power to create a winning campaign from the get go.
Feel free to print this out for your records and future use.
Regardless of where you’re currently focused, you can use this template to create product based leads, or biz opp leads.
Tip: If you’re going to be generating product based leads, then you’ll want to choose a ‘flagship product’ and lead with it in your campaign.
What is a “Flagship Product”?
A flagship product is a single product your company sells that has mass appeal. You’ll use your flagship product to ‘hook’ prospects in to your business — first as a consumer, then as a team member.
In other words, you’ll lead with and sell this product when speaking with prospects.
If your company only has one product, then the choice is made for you. myPhoneRoom falls in this category.
However, your company may have several dozen different products to choose from. In this case, choose a product (hopefully one you’ve used yourself), and just start marketing it. We can make adjustments later on.
Why Lead With A Flagship Product?
The reason why you want to lead with a single product is because if you share a dozen different products with your prospects from the get-go, the sheer amount of choice will simply overwhelm them. And overwhelmed people choose and do nothing.
It’s best to educate and sell them one product, and then slowly educate and sell them your other products over time.
Here’s the Template:
A solid marketing campaign from start to finish comprise of the following six areas:
#1. Foundation:
The Who, What, Where, When, Why and How.
#2. Budget:
You’ll want to set a rough target lead cost relative to expected conversion rates and the value of each customer.
#3. Action List:
Make a “to do” list of places to run your ad.
#4. Advertising:
This is your actual ad.
#5. Metrics:
This is where we run tests and keep track of the results.
#6. Monitoring and Updates:
Consistently refine your input on step 1.
In our next issue, I’ll start delving into the above steps and explain each in depth. Where possible, I’ll even share real-world examples with you.
Tip: As we go thru this you should be building your own marketing campaign at the same time.
Yours for more profits.
Sincerely,

Josh, our company prohibits the use of their products or name to be “reviewed” via blogs, video, etc. How do you overcome that and still market effectively? Can we talk about how a product line (let’s say tub cleaner) worked for us without mentioning the name of the specific company? Could we ask for their name, email, and phone number to get them the specific details?
I have at least 3 companies that I want to market to you for My Phone Room. I have not signed up as of yet because of funds and deciding how to do all three and use your call center. I of course do not have much time to do these things; but your product ROCKS
@Lisa: In this case Lisa, the answer is yes. Your ad will be a “blind ad”. Meaning your ad is ‘generic’ in the sense that it doesn’t mention any brand name product or company anywhere.
Typically, ads like these focus on building curiosity and use the benefits as the teaser to get people to opt-in for more information.
Hope that helps Lisa!
@Nancy: Thanks Nancy! Can’t wait to have you as a valued member!
This one was really good Josh.
I’ve only lead with my product a few times when the timing was right.
A person mentioned something I knew my product could help, and I turned on my radar ears, and briefly mentioned how it helped with “this”, or “that”.
Over time I became frustrated, and switched to leading with the business.
Either way will work.
But I never, ever thought of advertising with the product, and explaining the “WIFM”, “What’s In It For Me”.
That’s a great way to generate leads for product users, and maybe
convert them to distributors down the road.
A few people in my company have done this on accident. Doctors, Judges, Attorneys, CEO’s, really influential people by complete accident,
just by simply suggesting they give it a try.
Thanks for opening my eyes, to marketing the product, instead of the opportunity.

Great headline. If your cookie has a bite-sized action and your reader completes the action, I think two things happen. Their self-confidence goes up (which feels good) and their trust in you increases.
