<p><span id="more-534"></span>Now before we jump into the various avenues for marketing and advertising your website, there&#8217;s one step we must take in order to put success on our side.</p>
<p>Doing this one simple step can easily save you countless hours of frustration and thousands of dollars from being flushed down the drain.</p>
<p>Step one in getting targeting traffic to your site is &#8230;<br />
<strong><br />
#1. Understanding your target market:</strong></p>
<p>Before we do anything, it&#8217;s really important for you to take the time to know and understand who your target market is and what emotional hot buttons to push in order to get them to take action.</p>
<p>Knowing your market like the back of your hand will greatly help you stay fresh and interesting. Which helps to keep their attention on you and increase your sales and recruiting efforts.</p>
<p>Please <span style="text-decoration: underline;">don&#8217;t underestimate the importance of this first step</span> in your overall marketing strategy and gameplan because done right, it will greatly influence how you market and what you say in your marketing.</p>
<p>With that said, let&#8217;s talk about specific marketing tactics you can use starting right now to drive traffic to your site.</p>
<p><strong>#2. Article Writing:</strong></p>
<p>Writing brief articles with good, original content that is of interest to your audience can be one of the most effective marketing tactics you can use.</p>
<p>A good article does a whole lot more than just drive quality traffic to your site. It can:</p>
<ul>
<li>Position you as the leader your prospects are looking for.</li>
<li>Pre-sell your prospects on giving your products a try.</li>
<li>Pre-sell your prospects on joining your team.</li>
<li>And more!</li>

<p>Once you&#8217;ve written your article, simply post it to the various article directories found across the net (Article submission software if very handy for this chore).</p>
<p><strong>TIP:</strong> Don&#8217;t forget your resource box! Be sure to write your bio (keep it short) at the end and direct readers to your site (use your website url)!</p>
<p><strong>#3. One Way Links:</strong></p>
<p>A simple way of getting your site noticed by the search engines is to get quality (and relevant) sites to link back to your site.</p>
<p>Getting links to your site is actually much easier than it sounds. For example, when you write an article and include your resource box at the end.</p>
<p>Sites like Squidoo, Hubpages and WordPress can be a great source of links (and traffic) to your site when done properly.</p>
<p>Regularly participating and commenting in forums and blogs that are relevant to your business (don&#8217;t forget to set up a link in your signature) &#8211; can also drive a steady stream of quality prospects to your site.</p>
<p>Just be sure to think before you comment or post!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Without an email list for your business, you severely hamper your chances of becoming successful. It would be akin to playing basketball while hopping on one leg. Yes, you can still score a few points, but you&#8217;re at a major disadvantage compared to everyone else running around on two legs.</p>
<p>What is often taught and sold to beginners is the idea that having an email list allows you to make hundreds, even thousands of dollars with the simple click of button and the sending of a single email.</p>
<p>But what is rarely taught are the actual factors required in order for you to build a responsive email list, recruit new reps and make money with but a click of a button!</p>
<p>Here are my five list building tips to help you build a responsive list for your business:</p>
<p><span id="more-507"></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #1. Offer something of value to your prospects in exchange for their name and email address.</span></strong></p>
<p>Free reports or a free ebook are standard offerings online and still work like gangbusters. If, and only if, the report or ebook offers something of value to your prospects.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important that you match your offer to your market&#8217;s desires. This means that if your target prospect is looking for information on how to start a home based business, don&#8217;t offer them an ebook of cooking recipes!</p>
<p>Also, here&#8217;s a great tip to help you endear your prospects to you:</p>
<p>On your download page, give your new subscriber an additional free bonus of some kind. This is called over-delivering and helps you bridge the cold void between your prospects and yourself.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #2. Use the right auto-responder service. </span></strong></p>
<p>Two of most well known auto-responder services online are Aweber and GetResponse (<em>I use both, but am leaning towards Aweber as being my top choice</em>).</p>
<p>For a nominal monthly fee, you get a user-friendly interface to craft your broadcast messages, to manage your subscribers, and the highest email deliverability rates &#8211; getting your message delivered is of obvious importance because if no one gets your email, then no one can respond to your offer!</p>
<p>If you are serious about marketing your business online, DO NOT skimp here, and definitely don&#8217;t settle for free auto-responders in order to cut your costs.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #3. Be consistent, relevant and personal.</span></strong></p>
<p>Once you make the leap to email marketing, it&#8217;s important you stay in front of your prospects on a regular basis. When you first get started, once a month is good enough because you will have so much other work to get done.</p>
<p>Then, after your business has matured a bit, you can increase the frequency of emails to once a week or more if you have lots to say.</p>
<p>Speaking of what to say &#8230; try and make your follow up and broadcast messages relevant. Remember, if your subscriber opted-in to get information on a certain topic, make sure you follow up with similar information or content.</p>
<p>Staying relevant will keep your subscribers interested and will help get your emails opened and read.</p>
<p>And finally, treat your prospects like humans!</p>
<p>Your prospects are regular people just like you, so skip the &#8216;hoity-toity&#8217; fancy big words, and stick to being friendly and personal &#8211; that&#8217;s what they want. Speak to your prospects like they were old friends of yours and you will get much further ahead.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #4. Don&#8217;t be shy in talking with your prospects. </span></strong></p>
<p>One thing that frustrates prospects to no end occurs when their attempts to contact the list owner go unanswered.</p>
<p>When you respond promptly and courteously to emails, you are making a connection with the other person. If your subscribers start talking with you and as they start learning more about you, they will start to trust you and even respect you.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s when they feel comfortable enough to join you in business, or give your products a try.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #5. Focus on building a relationship with your list, not just building a list. </span></strong></p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get caught up in trying to build the biggest list of prospects on the planet. While list size does matter, it&#8217;s only half of the equation. The other half is your relationship with the list &#8212; refer back to #3 &amp; #4 above.</p>
<p>So be sure to actively look for ways to strengthen your relationship with your subscribers &#8211; it&#8217;ll pay off in spades in the future!</p>
<p>Finally, remember, building a list takes time, effort and a little bit of cash &#8211; but mostly it requires lots of elbow grease.</p>
<p>So if your list is growing slow at first, don&#8217;t despair, keep doing the things that are working and bringing you subscribers.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today&#8217;s issue is titled on the award winning TV show &#8220;Mad Men&#8221;. If you&#8217;ve never seen this show and you enjoy advertising, then I recommend watching an episode or two.</p>
<p><span id="more-297"></span>If you&#8217;ve ever taken any classes or read any books on advertising or marketing, then no doubt you&#8217;ll be familiar with the AIDA formula.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re unfamilliar with the AIDA formula, then today&#8217;s issue will be extremely beneficial for you.</p>
<p>AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s more detail about how the formula works in real life.</p>
<p><strong>Attention</strong>: The first rule of writting any good ad is to get your prospects attention. If they aren&#8217;t paying attention to you, then they can&#8217;t buy from you.</p>
<p>Creating attention in ads comes in the form of either a headline or a graphic that stands out from the crowded marketplace.</p>
<p><strong>Interest</strong>: In order for you to spark your prospects interest, you must focus on and demonstrate the benefits of your product to them and how it will solve a pressing problem or fulfill a want.</p>
<p><strong>Desire</strong>: This is the actual ad content designed to highlight their want and create the desire to have it filled.</p>
<p><strong>Action</strong>: This is where you give them instructions on how to buy or how to get more information so you can follow-up with them and make the sale.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m sure you noticed that there is significant overlap between different parts of your ad. For instance, your attention getting headline or graphic will oftentimes help create interest.</p>
<p>There is also a great deal of overlap in generating interest and desire in your prospect through your ad.</p>
<p><strong>Success Tip</strong>: Network marketing typically requires a number of &#8216;touches&#8217; with your prospect before they&#8217;re ready to say yes and buy from you, or to join your business.</p>

<p>Today, we&#8217;re going to start delving deep into exactly what you need to do in order to create a winning campaign. So without any further delay, let&#8217;s jump right on in &#8230;</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span id="more-279"></span><strong>Part 1: Foundation Overview</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Who:</strong> This is the person who would most likely buy your products or join your business and who you’ll start targeting your marketing campaigns and efforts towards.</p>
<p><strong>Avoid This Mistake: &#8216;Shotgun&#8217; Marketing</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;"><em>Shotgun marketing is a commonly made mistake and happens when you aren&#8217;t focused on specifically identifying your target prospect/demographic base.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>Typically, with a shotgun marketing approach, you end up stretching your advertising dollars too thinly and accidentally murder any chance of success you might have had with your marketing campaign.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>You&#8217;ll get far better results being selective in how you spend your advertising dollars and in targeting your ideal prospect.</em></p>
<p><strong>What:</strong> This is your product name and brief description of features and benefits.</p>
<p><strong>When:</strong> This is the legitimate urgency factor(s) your marketing must create in order to bring you maximum results. In short, you must convey the urgency to your audience that the best time to buy is right now!</p>
<p><strong>Where:</strong> This is an additional targeting tool used to identify traffic patterns of your “whom”.  Ie. If you are marketing a new plant fertilizer, you may want to advertise near or around a nursery &#8211; which is a common place that your prospects would most likely be found.</p>
<p><strong>Why:</strong> This is the #1 benefit of your product and should solve a problem of your prospect.</p>
<p><strong>How:</strong> This is how you&#8217;ll plan to market your business and reach your target audience. Examples include: Online adversing, newspaper, radio, tv personal marketing, direct mail, telephone, etc&#8230;</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Let&#8217;s Take A Look </strong></h2>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><strong>At These Concepts At Work:</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: left;">Now let’s go through each of these in detail using myPhoneRoom as our example.</p>

<p>If you want to have a successful business, then understanding marketing and lead generation should be at the top of your &#8216;to-learn&#8217; list as it is one of the most important skills you can learn as an entrepreneur.</p>
<p>Having lead abundance is often the answer to overcoming any current failing in the sales process of your business.</p>
<p><span id="more-261"></span>Plus, when you consider most businesses desperately crave a steady influx of new leads every day, now you&#8217;re starting to get an idea of just how valuable this one skill really is for your success.</p>
<p>Of course, it&#8217;s also important to manage and improve your conversion rates every step of the way, but it starts with generating leads and putting them through your sales process in order to identify any holes that will need plugging later on.</p>
<p>Now, before we jump in and get started, it&#8217;s important that we lay the proper foundation of knowledge. And that starts with defining what marketing is.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s my definition of marketing that has served me very well over the years:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>“Marketing is any educational effort directed towards consumers that speaks about the unique benefits of your products, service, or business and requests your prospects to (A) give you their contact information, or (B) buy your product.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>As you can see, my definition requires that the prospect take action. This form of advertising is called &#8220;Direct Response Marketing&#8221; because you ask your prospects to respond to your marketing.</p>
<p>Direct marketing has its roots in mail order, is over 100 years old and is founded on testing and tracking your results.</p>
<p>Direct marketing is vastly diferent from branding and advertising because of the Call to Action (CtA) found in every ad.</p>
<p>Consumers that answer your ad and provide you with basic information (<em>usually their name, email and phone number</em>) are a lead.</p>
<p>Leads are then funneled into your sales process and become either (A) product buyers, (B) new team members, or (C) pass on your offer today.</p>
<p>As a business owner, direct marketing can be the answer to your prayers because when done right, you know how profitable your advertisements are (<em>or aren&#8217;t</em>) based on the response you get from them.</p>
<p>This means you can easily set a budget for your business and know with relative accuracy, just how many leads each ad will generate.</p>
<p>As you can imagine, this kind of information is extremely powerful!</p>
<p>Most professional marketers will tell you that having multiple ads running simultaneously is the #1 key to success.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that your long-term success will come not only from your ability to market, but also from your ability to teach your team how to market.</p>
<p>So if you want to rapidly explode your business and get massive momentum, be sure to share your successful lead generation campaigns with your downline!</p>
<p>Now, if you&#8217;re unhappy with your results from your current marketing efforts, check your ads to see if you&#8217;re clearly asking prospects to take some form of action (<em>whether it&#8217;s to give you their contact info, or to buy your product/service</em>). Odds are high that either you (A) don&#8217;t have a CtA, or (B) your CtA is too confusing.</p>
<p><strong>TIP:</strong> From here on out, any marketing you do MUST include a CtA!</p>
