<p><span id="more-534"></span>Now before we jump into the various avenues for marketing and advertising your website, there&#8217;s one step we must take in order to put success on our side.</p>
<p>Doing this one simple step can easily save you countless hours of frustration and thousands of dollars from being flushed down the drain.</p>
<p>Step one in getting targeting traffic to your site is &#8230;<br />
<strong><br />
#1. Understanding your target market:</strong></p>
<p>Before we do anything, it&#8217;s really important for you to take the time to know and understand who your target market is and what emotional hot buttons to push in order to get them to take action.</p>
<p>Knowing your market like the back of your hand will greatly help you stay fresh and interesting. Which helps to keep their attention on you and increase your sales and recruiting efforts.</p>
<p>Please <span style="text-decoration: underline;">don&#8217;t underestimate the importance of this first step</span> in your overall marketing strategy and gameplan because done right, it will greatly influence how you market and what you say in your marketing.</p>
<p>With that said, let&#8217;s talk about specific marketing tactics you can use starting right now to drive traffic to your site.</p>
<p><strong>#2. Article Writing:</strong></p>
<p>Writing brief articles with good, original content that is of interest to your audience can be one of the most effective marketing tactics you can use.</p>
<p>A good article does a whole lot more than just drive quality traffic to your site. It can:</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is one of the quickest, most effective ways to get instant traffic to your website.</p>
<p>Thanks to PPC advertising, you can get extremely targeted, high converting prospects to your website. But there are several &#8220;secrets&#8221; you must know in order to do this successfully and without breaking the bank!</p>
<p><span id="more-528"></span><br />
<strong>SECRET #1.</strong><br />
The first step in creating a successful PPC campaign, is you must know who your target prospect is. You need to know what they are searching for and what keywords they&#8217;re using when they search.</p>
<p>A huge part of your success will come from how well you can get into your customers shoes and mindset. Think about what search phrases you would use if you were looking to buy your product or service.</p>
<p>Be sure to write down every search term and phrase you think of. I like to use an excel spreadsheet for this as I&#8217;ll be using the list later on in my PPC campaign.</p>
<p>Also, be sure not to censor yourself. At this point you only goal is to create as big a list of potential keywords for your campaign. The winners and losers with automatically identify themselves for you as the campaign goes live.<br />
<strong><br />
SECRET #2.</strong><br />
Now this second &#8220;secret&#8221; will be obvious to anyone who has any PPC experience, but it&#8217;s often overlooked by those just getting started and it usually significantly hinders their ability to be successful long term.</p>
<p>But one of the most useful tools you can use when setting up your PPC campaign is the daily budget limit which allows you to set how much you&#8217;d like to spend on clicks each day &#8211; whether it&#8217;s just $20 a day or $2,000. You have complete control in setting your ad budget &#8212; and you should!</p>
<p>If you set you campaign to the &#8220;no daily budget&#8221; option, you will pay for however many times your ad is shown and clicked on.</p>
<p>In other words, your ad will be shown as many times as possible throughout the day and it can amount to a staggering number that can easily send you to the poorhouse!</p>
<p>So, if you&#8217;re on a budget, or just starting out, I highly recommend you put a daily budget to your ad campaign until the campaign has run for at least a week and you know what your statistics and conversions are.</p>
<p>PPC advertising can get expensive really quickly. So set your budget according to what you can afford.</p>
<p><strong>SECRET #3.</strong><br />
Don&#8217;t just go for the obvious keywords in your niche.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s time to put your thinking cap on and make your skull sweat thinking of other keywords that are related to your niches major keywords.</p>
<p>Oftentimes these &#8220;sleeper&#8221; keywords can make the difference between a winning and losing campaign.</p>
<p>Also, mispellings are another great source of traffic your competitors most likely aren&#8217;t capitalizing on like they could (and should).</p>
<p><strong>SECRET #4. </strong><br />
Focus on selling your prospect on clicking your PPC ad for more details.</p>
<p>At this stage in your marketing funnel, prospects haven&#8217;t even opted-in to your lead capture page so your goal at this point is simple: Get them to click your ad to visit your lead capture page and opt-in for more details and information about your product/service/opportunity.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why your ad MUST sell your prospects on clicking the ad and going to the lead capture page.</p>
<p>Your PPC ad is not the time or place to try and sell them anything. That&#8217;s why your PPC ad must focus on getting your prospects to your lead capture page and nothing more.</p>
<p><strong>SECRET #5.</strong><br />
Focus on conversions, not clicks.</p>
<p>You can easily get 1,000 clicks a day, but if those 1,000 visitors converts to zero sales, you&#8217;ve wasted your time and a lot of money.</p>
<p>The goal of your PPC campaigns should be to have the highest conversion rate possible. Which leads me to the next secret:<br />
<strong><br />
SECRET #6</strong>.<br />
One of the BIGGEST keys to success with PPC advertising is ensuring that your PPC ad and lead capture page messages match.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re marketing the benefits of your product in your PPC campaign and a prospect clicks on your ad only to be taken to your opportunity page &#8230; then your PPC campaign is destined to fail but not before it gobbles up a bunch of your money.</p>
<p>The old bait and switch simply does not work with PPC advertising.</p>
<p>First, your conversion rate will crater and flatline. Here&#8217;s why: When people click on your ad, it&#8217;s because they think clicking on it will answer a question or address a problem they have.</p>
<p>If the question or problem isn&#8217;t answered immediately upon visiting your page, they&#8217;ll leave.</p>
<p>Second, you will lose a lot of money and fast. It doesn&#8217;t take very long for PPC costs to skyrocket. Especially if you&#8217;ve written a killer ad that gets plenty of clicks but doesn&#8217;t convert due to your lead capture page being a complete disconnect from what you promised or said in your ad.</p>
<p>And thirdly, and quite simply, Google (and other search engines) don&#8217;t like marketers who try to (A) game the system or (B) try to take advantage of consumers.</p>
<p>If your PPC ad and lead capture page aren&#8217;t working synergistically  content-wise, expect to be penalized severely.</p>
<p>Penalties most commonly manifest themselves in higher pay-per-click costs which means you pay more for every click then you otherwise would <em>- I hope you&#8217;ve got a big budget!</em></p>
<p>Other times, your entire campaign will get shut down.</p>
<p>The bottom line is simple:</p>
<p>Make sure the message in your ad and lead capture page match.</p>
<p><strong>SECRET #7.</strong><br />
One of the greatest things about PPC advertising is that you can quickly and easily test different headlines, offers and ads to see which one really connects with your prospects and brings you the highest number of clicks and sales.</p>
<p>So test, test, test and test some more!</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t be scared to test out some of the crazier ad ideas you have, some of the biggest breakthroughs come from the most unexpected places.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Without an email list for your business, you severely hamper your chances of becoming successful. It would be akin to playing basketball while hopping on one leg. Yes, you can still score a few points, but you&#8217;re at a major disadvantage compared to everyone else running around on two legs.</p>
<p>What is often taught and sold to beginners is the idea that having an email list allows you to make hundreds, even thousands of dollars with the simple click of button and the sending of a single email.</p>
<p>But what is rarely taught are the actual factors required in order for you to build a responsive email list, recruit new reps and make money with but a click of a button!</p>
<p>Here are my five list building tips to help you build a responsive list for your business:</p>
<p><span id="more-507"></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #1. Offer something of value to your prospects in exchange for their name and email address.</span></strong></p>
<p>Free reports or a free ebook are standard offerings online and still work like gangbusters. If, and only if, the report or ebook offers something of value to your prospects.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important that you match your offer to your market&#8217;s desires. This means that if your target prospect is looking for information on how to start a home based business, don&#8217;t offer them an ebook of cooking recipes!</p>
<p>Also, here&#8217;s a great tip to help you endear your prospects to you:</p>
<p>On your download page, give your new subscriber an additional free bonus of some kind. This is called over-delivering and helps you bridge the cold void between your prospects and yourself.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #2. Use the right auto-responder service. </span></strong></p>
<p>Two of most well known auto-responder services online are Aweber and GetResponse (<em>I use both, but am leaning towards Aweber as being my top choice</em>).</p>
<p>For a nominal monthly fee, you get a user-friendly interface to craft your broadcast messages, to manage your subscribers, and the highest email deliverability rates &#8211; getting your message delivered is of obvious importance because if no one gets your email, then no one can respond to your offer!</p>
<p>If you are serious about marketing your business online, DO NOT skimp here, and definitely don&#8217;t settle for free auto-responders in order to cut your costs.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #3. Be consistent, relevant and personal.</span></strong></p>
<p>Once you make the leap to email marketing, it&#8217;s important you stay in front of your prospects on a regular basis. When you first get started, once a month is good enough because you will have so much other work to get done.</p>
<p>Then, after your business has matured a bit, you can increase the frequency of emails to once a week or more if you have lots to say.</p>
<p>Speaking of what to say &#8230; try and make your follow up and broadcast messages relevant. Remember, if your subscriber opted-in to get information on a certain topic, make sure you follow up with similar information or content.</p>
<p>Staying relevant will keep your subscribers interested and will help get your emails opened and read.</p>
<p>And finally, treat your prospects like humans!</p>
<p>Your prospects are regular people just like you, so skip the &#8216;hoity-toity&#8217; fancy big words, and stick to being friendly and personal &#8211; that&#8217;s what they want. Speak to your prospects like they were old friends of yours and you will get much further ahead.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #4. Don&#8217;t be shy in talking with your prospects. </span></strong></p>
<p>One thing that frustrates prospects to no end occurs when their attempts to contact the list owner go unanswered.</p>
<p>When you respond promptly and courteously to emails, you are making a connection with the other person. If your subscribers start talking with you and as they start learning more about you, they will start to trust you and even respect you.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s when they feel comfortable enough to join you in business, or give your products a try.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #000080;">Tip #5. Focus on building a relationship with your list, not just building a list. </span></strong></p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get caught up in trying to build the biggest list of prospects on the planet. While list size does matter, it&#8217;s only half of the equation. The other half is your relationship with the list &#8212; refer back to #3 &amp; #4 above.</p>
<p>So be sure to actively look for ways to strengthen your relationship with your subscribers &#8211; it&#8217;ll pay off in spades in the future!</p>
<p>Finally, remember, building a list takes time, effort and a little bit of cash &#8211; but mostly it requires lots of elbow grease.</p>
<p>So if your list is growing slow at first, don&#8217;t despair, keep doing the things that are working and bringing you subscribers.</p>

<p><span id="more-309"></span>Build a strong relationship with your subscribers and they will come to trust you and in time, join you in business.</p>
<p>In order for that to happen, you need to know how to list build, so here&#8217;s a few tips to get you started:</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">List Building Tip #1.</span></strong></p>
<p>Do not give away any information about your company or opportunity until your prospect has given you their contact information first.</p>
<p>Online, a lead capture page does this for you. So be sure to advertise and market your lead capture page url and not your company home page! &#8211; You can send your prospects to your company homepage after they opt-in.</p>
<p>Offline, if you&#8217;re using an 800#, your service provider should automatically be gathering their contact information for you.</p>
<p>And if you&#8217;re talking to them, just ask them for their contact so you can send them more information. Yes, <em>it really is that easy!</em></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">List Building Tip #2. </span></strong></p>
<p>To encourage people to opt-in, offer them a valuable gift for free. E-books and reports (digital) are great gifts to give away because of the inherent value they provide your prospect. Plus, it won&#8217;t cost you a penny to deliver the ebook or report.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">List Building Tip #3.</span></strong></p>
<p>To further increase your opt-in rate, show and tell your prospect what&#8217;s in it for them and why they should opt-in.</p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve started list building, be sure to set a schedule of communication to stay in regular contact with your prospects.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re just getting started, then an email a month is a good place to start. Think of it as a monthly newsletter. As your list grows, you&#8217;ll want to increase your monthly communication to twice a month, once a week, twice a week, etc&#8230;</p>
<p>List building does not have to be difficult. Just stay focused on your advertising and marketing each week.</p>

<p><span id="more-297"></span>If you&#8217;ve ever taken any classes or read any books on advertising or marketing, then no doubt you&#8217;ll be familiar with the AIDA formula.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re unfamilliar with the AIDA formula, then today&#8217;s issue will be extremely beneficial for you.</p>
<p>AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s more detail about how the formula works in real life.</p>
<p><strong>Attention</strong>: The first rule of writting any good ad is to get your prospects attention. If they aren&#8217;t paying attention to you, then they can&#8217;t buy from you.</p>
<p>Creating attention in ads comes in the form of either a headline or a graphic that stands out from the crowded marketplace.</p>
<p><strong>Interest</strong>: In order for you to spark your prospects interest, you must focus on and demonstrate the benefits of your product to them and how it will solve a pressing problem or fulfill a want.</p>
<p><strong>Desire</strong>: This is the actual ad content designed to highlight their want and create the desire to have it filled.</p>
<p><strong>Action</strong>: This is where you give them instructions on how to buy or how to get more information so you can follow-up with them and make the sale.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m sure you noticed that there is significant overlap between different parts of your ad. For instance, your attention getting headline or graphic will oftentimes help create interest.</p>
<p>There is also a great deal of overlap in generating interest and desire in your prospect through your ad.</p>
<p><strong>Success Tip</strong>: Network marketing typically requires a number of &#8216;touches&#8217; with your prospect before they&#8217;re ready to say yes and buy from you, or to join your business.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why it is critically important you collect your prospects contact information so that you can control the follow-up process and be there when they are ready to get started.</p>
